While the steel construction is already making visible progress, a key element of the safety infrastructure for the entire quarter is being developed beneath the “Logistics Center North” building component: the sprinkler control center, including the control unit, as well as two massive firewater storage tanks, each with a capacity of 500 m³. In an emergency, these systems protect the building complex from fire damage—powerful, redundant, and reliable.
In the event of a fire, water is delivered to the affected building areas by a high-performance pump (250 kW) with a pumping capacity of approximately 10,000 liters per minute—equivalent to nearly 70 filled bathtubs per minute.
Firewater storage capacity – key facts:
- 2 × 500 m³ = 1,000 m³ or 1,000,000 liters of firefighting water
- Equivalent to the capacity of 300 medium-sized fire engines
- Or nearly 7,000 bathtubs
- Enough to fill half a public outdoor swimming pool
The pumping technology is secured by two redundantly designed emergency power generators, ensuring maximum safety even in the event of a power outage.
This space-efficient, underground high-tech infrastructure thus provides reliable safety above ground
