The historic Klinker Hall is the last remaining part of the former Perlmooser cement factory, which produced high-quality Portland cement at this site since the mid-19th century.
Admittedly, it takes a bit of vision to imagine that just a few months from now, high-tech operations will be taking place here. Looking at the photos, many would probably describe it as a dilapidated industrial ruin ready for demolition.
But we see more. Even though the structure has aged over the years, the massive building fabric from back then is still impressively solid today. With a great deal of creativity and structural engineering expertise, we are now breathing new life into these historically evolved structures.
While we are carrying out a complete core refurbishment of the existing hall, a modern extension is being built in the former inner courtyard. One technical highlight: the old hall crane from 1957 is being replaced by a state-of-the-art overhead crane system with a lifting capacity of 40 tons.
The long-term reuse of the existing building structure on the one hand, and the sensible densification of already sealed surfaces on the other, characterize this highly demanding engineering project. Once completed, it will sustainably strengthen the supply chain of a successful Tyrolean industrial company.
We are transforming the existing into the future. It will be exciting to watch this place gradually transform piece by piece!
